Two models in particular have been pitted against each other in various fora and discussions - the Marantz Model 2325 and the Sansui 9090.1971 With the Model 2270 Marantz has launched in 1971 a legend in the market. The performance was amazing 70 watts per channel stereo. This was the beginning of the worldwide success of the Marantz receiver. It was the largest model of the 22XX series. A receiver battle began among the big manufacturers such as Sansui, Pioneer & Co.

Marantz had one preamp, one power amp, one tuner and a turntable throughout most of the middle to late 60's.
